YACHT CHARTERS & BROKERAGE
Founding and Growth
Established by Paolo Vitelli in 1969, Azimut, a prominent member of the Azimut Benetti Group, has emerged as a global powerhouse in yacht manufacturing, boasting a staggering number of yachts produced over the decades. What began as a humble chartering of sailboats has transformed into Azimut's leadership in luxury flybridge yachts. In a pivotal move in 1985, Azimut acquired the esteemed Italian shipyard, Benetti, marking the commencement of a long-lasting partnership.
Azimut prioritizes comfort and safety in their yacht designs, blending classic elegance with advanced technology for optimal performance. With established bases worldwide, Azimut expanded its operations significantly in 2003 by opening a 52,000-square-meter Viareggio facility, strategically positioned on the edge of Viareggio harbor. This expansion further solidified Azimut's presence in the industry as a reputable Italian brand, delivering exquisite, enduringly popular yachts.
Azimut's brand strength is bolstered by its extensive network of official Azimut dealers, and the shipyard actively participates in major yacht shows within the industry.
Notable milestones in Azimut's history include the introduction of the 30-meter Jumbo 100 flybridge yacht series in the late '90s, followed by the Azimut 105 and Azimut 116 in the early 2000s. The shipyard gained acclaim with models such as the Azimut 98 Leonardo and the Azimut Open series, featuring the 86S and 120SL. In 2014, Azimut-Benetti Group orchestrated a complete transformation of the Azimut brand with the launch of the Azimut Grande range. Subsequently, the Flybridge, S, and Magellano Collections underwent a refresh in 2017. The Azimut Grande series offers a diverse selection of flybridge yachts, ranging from 27 meters to 36 meters. Noteworthy deliveries include the Grande 27 Metri, Grande 32 Metri, and Grande 35 Metri.
Italian Elegance and Beyond
Throughout its history, Azimut has forged partnerships with some of Italy's most trusted designers, creating streamlined and stylish models that uphold the renowned reputation of Italian shipyards. Notably, the exterior design of the Azimut Magellano 25 Metri and 30 Metri was entrusted to the British studio Ken Freivokh Design. The majority of Azimut's composite-hulled production yacht models originated from the creative genius of Stefano Righini, who also made significant contributions to Benetti's fiberglass range.
Today, Azimut Yachts stands at the forefront of yacht builders globally, offering an expansive range, from compact flybridge motor yachts to substantial fiberglass superyachts. The Azimut brand is synonymous with quality, renowned for its yachts' effortless beauty and unmistakable Italian essence. The yacht range spans from 13 meters to approximately 40 meters, catering to diverse preferences.
Fiberglass Excellence
Since its inception, Azimut has been dedicated to the craftsmanship of fiberglass motor yachts. Offering an extensive portfolio of models, Azimut caters to clients seeking swift and stylish yachts that perfectly blend size and sophistication. The shipyard provides a range of choices, from sporty open yachts to expansive flybridge units. Most notably, Azimut introduced tri-deck Azimut yachts in its recent lineup. While many Azimut yachts are built speculatively with shorter delivery times, clients retain the liberty to personalize their vessels with custom options and interior features.
Timeless Appeal
Azimut's hallmark has been its consistent ability to refresh its lineup across various sizes while striking a harmonious balance between sporty aesthetics and timeless designs. This proficiency in creating alluring models has made Azimut yachts highly sought-after in the brokerage market.
Azimut's commitment to innovation remains unwavering. The shipyard ventured into the superyacht tri-deck segment in 2021 with the unveiling of its first semi-displacement 38-meter yacht, the Azimut Grande 38 Trideck, affectionately named "Shabby." Additionally, Azimut actively develops two new production models: the Azimut Grande 26 and Azimut Grande 36 Trideck, with scheduled deliveries in 2022.
With the advent of the Grande series, Azimut embarked on a fresh era of collaboration with a new generation of Italian designers. Alberto Mancini, a talented designer with connections to other esteemed Italian yacht builders, was responsible for the most recent models, including the Azimut Grande 26, S10, 36, and 38 Trideck. For these latest models, the interiors of Azimut's yachts bear the hallmark of Achille Salvagni and Francesco Guida, ensuring a harmonious fusion of design and functionality that embodies the essence of Italian craftsmanship.
