YACHT CHARTERS & BROKERAGE
Established in Lemwerder, Germany, in 1907 by Henry Rasmussen and Georg Abeking, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts originally focused on constructing commercial sail and motor yachts. Their commitment to innovative designs and impeccable craftsmanship quickly earned them a reputation that led private clients to request custom yachts. During World War I, the shipyard shifted its focus to building naval vessels, primarily minesweepers and torpedo dinghies. Since then, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts has continued to serve all facets of the maritime industry: private, commercial, and military. The shipyard is renowned for its high-custom, award-winning superyachts. Abeking & Rasmussen remains a family-owned business, blending tradition with a forward-thinking approach, often embracing cutting-edge technologies.
Today, the shipyard enjoys a solid standing in the yachting community, renowned for its meticulous craftsmanship and opulent superyachts. With a modern facility capable of constructing yachts up to 125 meters in length, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts boasts a highly skilled team of craftsmen. Their yachts consistently garner significant interest in both the sales and charter markets, offering strong investment potential for buyers.
Abeking & Rasmussen yachts, a German shipyard, stands as one of the select Northern European builders exclusively dedicated to crafting full-custom motor yacht projects tailored to the exacting demands of its clientele. Operating within the specialized realm of large displacement yachts, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts delivers distinctive superyachts ranging from 40 meters to 125 meters. Notably, their most recent projects have surpassed 2000 gross tons in volume.
Given the unique nature of their creations, steel serves as the preferred material for hulls, while aluminum is used for superstructures. Clients choose Abeking & Rasmussen yachts for the freedom to craft one-of-a-kind designs, both externally and internally. Moreover, the exceptional craftsmanship and quality of Abeking & Rasmussen yachts ensure their enduring value on the brokerage market, where they consistently maintain a high resale value.
In recent years, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts has captured the superyacht industry's attention with several exceptional projects. The 98-meter motor yacht Aviva, delivered in 2017, gained widespread anticipation, featuring its own lower deck padel tennis court. The 80-meter Excellence, showcased during the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, turned heads with its advanced exterior design and extensive use of glass. Delivered in 2016, the 72-meter full-custom explorer Cloudbreak continues to set high standards. Among other notable projects, the first 41-meter SWATH catamaran Nurja (formerly Silver Cloud) was completed in 2008.
Similar to other ultra-high-end superyacht builders, Abeking & Rasmussen yachts has collaborated with world-class exterior and interior yacht designers. In the 2000s, the A&R fleet became known for its exterior designs by Donald Starkey Designs. Notable examples include the 60-meter yachts Scott Free and Kaiser, both designed by Donald Starkey Designs. More recently, the shipyard has expanded its roster of designers, offering greater variety in external styling. Design partners encompass, among others, Winch Design for Excellence, Harrison Eidsgaard for Elandess, Raymond Langton for Aviva, Terence Disdale for RoMEA, and Espen Øino for Cloudbreak.
