Riva yachts’ original shipyard was 118,000+ square feet and located in Sarnico on Lake Iseo near Bergamo, Italy. The first boats built there were commercial. By 1920, the yard switched gears and began constructing pleasure yachts and racing boats. In the ‘50s, a series of wood-based designs turned the Riva Yacht brand into a status symbol for the affluent and celebrities. The Sarnico yard produced 27 to 66-foot models. Over the decades, Riva Yachts added two more shipyards: The 42,650-square-foot La Spezia (2004) for yachts ranging from 76 to 110 feet; and Ancona (2018), a 465,000-square-foot yard that launched Riva Race – a 164-foot super-yacht.
