Madiz is not just a yacht; she’s a floating chapter of maritime history. Built in 1902 by Ailsa Shipbuilding Co. in Troon, Scotland, she is one of the few remaining classic motor yachts from the early 20th century. Having survived two world wars and hosted royalty and celebrities, Madiz is the oldest operational yacht still holding Lloyd’s 100A1 classification—a timeless emblem of enduring legacy.

Madiz accommodates up to 14 guests in seven staterooms, each echoing the opulence of a bygone era. The interiors are adorned with original mahogany paneling, skylights, and vintage fixtures, blending classic elegance with subtle modern comforts. The suites include the Owner’s, President’s, Lord’s, Lady’s, Athenian, Ambassador, and an additional guest cabin—all designed to impress.
Constructed with a steel hull and superstructure, Madiz was built to last—and she has. Her structural integrity was reinforced during an extensive refit from 2003 to 2007 under Lloyd's supervision, with 50 tons of steel plating replaced and new tanks, shafts, and engine components installed. She’s more than a vintage showpiece—she’s a resilient and seaworthy vessel.
Madiz is powered by twin Mercedes Maybach 250HP engines, fully overhauled and carefully maintained. With a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 2,750 nautical miles, she’s as capable as she is elegant. Auxiliary systems include two generators and updated navigation, ensuring smooth operation over extended distances.
The refit effort was monumental: nearly every system was renewed—from piping, pumps, and sewage treatment to electrical wiring, rudder mechanisms, and deck furnishings. The result is a vessel that blends historical integrity with modern reliability, retaining her original character while meeting contemporary safety and mechanical standards.
From teak decks to a vintage 6m Riva Superflorida tender, life aboard Madiz celebrates a slower, more graceful way of yachting. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining, sun lounging, and panoramic views from the upper deck. The crew of ten has their own well-equipped quarters, ensuring professional service for all onboard.
Now offered for sale in Athens, Madiz presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of living history. Ideal for collectors, heritage enthusiasts, or boutique charters, she is ready to grace the seas once more under the command of a passionate new owner.
