The decisive day of racing — the much-anticipated St. Regis Race Day — brought a gripping showdown. With Cervo, Gelliceaux, and Rose tied at four points apiece, the race was wide open. Optimal conditions off Mallorca, including consistent winds and clear skies, provided the ideal backdrop for high-stakes competition and tactical brilliance from the participating superyachts.
Class A featured a head-to-head battle between two titans — the 39m Cervo and 35m Gelliceaux. In an intense duel, Gelliceaux managed to edge out her rival by just over a minute on corrected time, securing both the class win and a potential overall title. Her victory was narrow but impressive, demonstrating precision sailing and masterful crew coordination.
In Class B, Rose took on a competitive field, including Sveam and four Baltic 68 Café Racers. Despite Open Season’s trio of race wins and class victory, she and the other Café Racers were ineligible for the overall title due to classification. Rose’s consistent second-place finishes secured her a six-point tally — matching Gelliceaux — but the tie-breaker went in Rose’s favor due to the larger number of competitors in her class.
An elated Captain Ben Potter reflected on Rose’s third title with pride and joy. “We are absolutely elevated,” he said, praising his team’s effort and the flawless performance of the yacht. Potter lauded the week’s "champagne sailing conditions" and acknowledged the event’s exceptional organization, clear communication, and emphasis on safety. His parting message: every yacht should aspire to be part of this event.
The regatta was graced with perfect conditions — flat seas and winds ranging from 10 to 16 knots. The 23nm course challenged teams with a downwind start and wide-ranging tactical options across the Bay of Palma. Among the standout performers was Linnea Aurora, a Hoek Truly Classic 128, who claimed her second race win despite early setbacks that removed her from overall contention.
The regatta concluded with a grand prize-giving ceremony at the SYC Regatta Village, supported by RSB Rigging Solutions, a valued long-time partner celebrating its 20th year. Steve Branagh, RSB’s Managing Director, called it a “prize-giving to remember.” The Superyacht Cup Palma returns for its 30th anniversary from June 24 to 27, 2026 — promising another chapter of superyacht racing excellence.

Consistency, precision, and passion — that's what it takes to make history. Winning once is impressive, but three times in a row is legendary.
